The first piece I made using a recycled item was Flood Watch. The photograph of the man in the porthole was taken by nineteenth-century Gettysburg photographer Mumper. It had been with a collection of early photographs stored in my basement when it was flooded in 1996. It was the only thing left after the cleaners finished; I found it lying on the grass in my garden. The piece is made of sterling silver, brass, titanium (the colorful waves) and the found photograph.
